Deputy Chair & Director of Education
Besmillah Joya is a social development and human rights advocate from Afghanistan, with experience in civil society leadership, education, and community-based development.
He holds a bachelor’s degree from Afghanistan and has worked as a journalist, civil society activist, and human rights defender, contributing to initiatives focused on education, social justice, and women’s empowerment.
His professional journey includes collaboration with Afghan institutions and international organizations such as the European Union, Oxfam, and GIZ in the fields of education, human rights, and community development.
Currently based in Berlin, Germany, Besmillah is pursuing a Master’s degree and working with legal and human rights organizations. As Deputy Chair & Director of Education at Humanity Network for Women, he leads the organization’s educational programs, developing initiatives that expand learning opportunities and empower Afghan women and girls.
